Automotive Only • Limited Availability

Mobile Mechanic Service

Backfire Barn is primarily a shop-based repair facility in Warren, Texas. However, we understand that sometimes a vehicle simply cannot be safely driven or towed to us. In those situations, we offer a limited mobile mechanic service for automotive only.

What Our Mobile Service Covers

Our mobile mechanic service is only available for automotive vehicles such as:

  • Light-duty pickup trucks
  • Passenger cars and SUVs
  • Select light-duty diesel pickups (case-by-case)

We do not offer mobile service for:

  • Lawn mowers, zero-turns, tractors, or other lawn equipment
  • ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, or dirt bikes
  • Boats or marine engines
  • Generators, welders, or other power equipment

When to Use Mobile Service (and When Not To)

Mobile service is intended for situations where it is not reasonably possible to bring the vehicle to our shop. Examples where mobile service may be appropriate:

  • Vehicle is completely disabled and will not start
  • Safety concerns prevent driving the vehicle (no brakes, severe steering issues, etc.)
  • Vehicle is stuck at home or at work and cannot be moved

In many cases, it is still better and more cost-effective to:

  • Have the vehicle towed to Backfire Barn, or
  • Schedule a standard in-shop repair appointment

For most jobs, we will recommend you bring the vehicle to the shop first. Mobile service is a backup option for situations where that’s not possible.

Service Area & Availability

Mobile automotive service is available on a limited basis and only within a reasonable distance of our shop in Warren, Texas. Availability depends on:

  • Current shop workload and schedule
  • Weather and daylight conditions
  • Safety and accessibility of the vehicle location

We must be able to work in a safe, stable area off the roadway — for example, a driveway, parking lot, or similar surface. We cannot perform repairs in dangerous locations, in traffic, or where it’s unsafe to be under or around the vehicle.

Travel & Diagnostic Fees

Mobile service involves additional travel and setup time compared to a normal in-shop repair. As a result:

  • A mobile diagnostic / service fee will apply to all on-site visits
  • Additional charges may apply based on distance and time on-site
  • Parts availability may be limited in the field; some repairs may still require shop work

For current mobile service pricing and availability, please call us directly. We’ll ask a few questions about your situation and let you know whether mobile service is appropriate or if towing to the shop is the better option.

What to Expect During a Mobile Visit

When you schedule a mobile visit, please be prepared to provide:

  • Vehicle year, make, model, and engine
  • Exact location of the vehicle
  • Details about the problem (no-start, noise, fluid leak, etc.)
  • Photos or videos if available — this can help us prepare

During the visit we will:

  • Perform an initial diagnostic to identify the issue as accurately as possible
  • Let you know what can be done on-site and what may require shop work
  • Review costs with you before moving forward with any repairs beyond the diagnostic

Ready to Discuss Mobile Service?

Because mobile service is limited and situation-dependent, the best way to start is by calling the shop. We’ll help you decide whether mobile service, towing, or a standard appointment at Backfire Barn is the right call.

You may also use our online request form and mention “Mobile Service” in the notes so we know you’re asking about an on-site visit.
